Police Confiscate Seven Pounds of Marijuana

A routine traffic stop ended with police on St. Croix confiscating seven pounds of marijuana. Lucier Williams, age 45 of Estate St. John was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute.
Police stopped the vehicle Williams was driving because he ran a stop sign in the Gallows Bay area. Police said they noticed that Williams was acting in a nervous manner and asked if he has anything illegal in his vehicle. Williams responded that he had a little bit of marijuana and was detained by police.
While conducting a search of the vehicle for the officers’ safety a large amount of marijuana totaling about seven pounds was found in the rear of the vehicle. Williams was placed under arrest at about 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, December 15 and taken into custody.
Bail for Williams was set at $10,000 and he was remanded to the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility.
