Search Warrant Yields Stolen VIPD Vest and Arrest

Police detectives on St. Thomas executed a search warrant and discovered drugs, a firearm, ammunition and a VIPD bullet proof vest and handcuffs previously reported stolen.


The officers executed the warrant at the Estate Anna’s Retreat home of 24-year-old Laquan England on Thursday, December 23 at about 4:30 p.m. During the search police discovered a fully loaded .45 caliber Smith and Wesson pistol with an obliterated serial number, a large amount of marijuana, marijuana seeds, a bullet proof vest, and handcuffs. The vest and handcuffs were confirmed to be stolen from a V.I.P.D. officer’s home.


England was arrested and charged with Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm, Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number, Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, Cultivation of Marijuana, and Possession of Stolen Property. His bail was set at $100,000 and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.
