Second Suspect Arrested in November 30 Murder

Police detectives on St. Thomas arrested a second suspect in the November 30 murder of 22-year-old St. Thomas native Aquil Abdullah. Jamoi Corraspe, 18 was arrested Friday, December 24 based on an arrest warrant issued by the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands.
Abdullah was murdered at about 4 a.m. November 30 in the parking lot of the Jaguars Nightclub. At that time police the said victim was involved in an altercation with one or more persons while standing in the parking lot and was shot several times. Also injured in the shooting was Jeffory Jeffers who was shot in his right foot.
Jamoi Corraspe, arrested on December 24, was charged with First Degree Murder and held without bail pending his Advise of Rights Hearing.
Police said Corraspe was positively identified from a photo array as one of the suspects that approached the victim Aquil Abdullah. Abdullah pushed Corraspe away and gunshots were fired resulting in the death of the victim. Forensic results revealed that three different handguns were used in connection with this homicide, police said.
Corraspe was also arrested on Tuesday, December 21 and charged with First Degree Assault, Aggravated Child Abuse, Reckless Endangerment and Using a Firearm in the Commission of a Crime for the non fatal shooting of a 17-year-old minor near Mandela Circle.
The first suspect in the shooting, 18-year-old Lorn Vern Henley, was arrested hours after the murder at about 11:30 the same day. He was charged with First Degree Murder, two counts of First Degree Assault, two counts of Use of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime of Violence, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Reckless Endangerment and Possession of Ammunition and held without bail.
