Gunshot Victims Dies at Hospital

Police on St. Croix are investigating the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Luis Ayala of Estate Williams Delight. Ayala was shot at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, December 26 and was pronounced dead by hospital staff at 11:30 p.m.
Police and Emergency Medical Technicians were notified of the shooting through the 911 emergency dispatch. When police arrived on the scene, in the private section of Estate Williams Delight, they observed the shooting victim lying in the yard of the residence. He was transported to the Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital by ambulance for treatment and was pronounced dead about an hour later. The victim was shot several times, according to the medical staff.
The Major Crime and Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives are investigating this case. Police urges anyone with information on this latest murder to call detectives at 712-6075, 712-6077, 712-6037 or you can call Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS.
