Three Injured In Monday Morning Shooting; CIB Investigating

On January 14, 2019, at approximately 1:06 am, the 911 Central Dispatch received several calls about shots being fired in the area of Emerald Hill, located in Smith Bay.

Shortly after, new calls informed about 3 (three) black males that were shot in that area, and they were being transported to a hospital by private vehicle.

Officers were notified and dispatched to travel to the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center in reference to those assault victims.

Upon arrival, contact was made with the Emergency Room attendants who advised the officers the victims suffered several gunshot wounds to their bodies.

One of the victims stated that they were driving home and as they reached the area of Emerald Hill, they heard multiple gunshots being fired at them.

That individual stated that after being struck, he was able to get the vehicle to his residence where he and the other victims received assistance from family members and were driven to the hospital.

He concluded by stating that he has no idea who shot them, and where the shots came from.

All three victims were treated at the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center and remain in stable condition.

This case is presently under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
