Special Operations Bureau Traffic Initiative Leads To Arrest And Gun Seizure

On January 15, 2019, at approximately 5:07 p.m., Police Officers from the Special Operations Bureau were conducting a traffic initiative on Queen Mary Highway in the vicinity of the Sunny Isle Shopping Center when they stopped a vehicle without a registration sticker.

Contact was made with the driver of the vehicle, later identified as Ukimby Tequan Trey Greaux, who could not provide the Officers with proof of registration.

Officers asked if he had anything illegal in his vehicle to which he stated “No” but admitted that he had smoked a joint and may have remanence of it in the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle revealed that there was a loaded revolver and six extra rounds in the vehicle.

The investigation disclosed that Greaux is not authorized to carry or possess a firearm in the territory of the Virgin Islands.

He was placed under arrest for unauthorized possession of a firearm. Unable to post bail in the amount of $25,000.00, 24-year-old Ukimby Greaux was transported to the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility where he was remanded.
