Man Arrested After High Speed Chase In Charlotte Amalie

On Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at approximately 1:00 pm, Police Officers were in the area of Alton Adams Drive when they observed a male who was later identified as Darren Hodge, operating a heavily tinted vehicle driving at a high rate of speed in a school district (Charlotte Amalie High School).

Officers atteptempted to conduct a traffic stop however the driver refused to stop.

The driver was alerted with blue lights and siren but he continued at a higher rate of speed in his continued attempt to evade the police.

The driver of the vehicle overtook several cars, driving erratically and travelled east on Raphune Hill and finally stopped when other officers managed to create a road block near the top of Raphune Hill.

Hodge was then given several orders by the Police to exit his vehicle and refused to comply.

Darren Hodge, 33 years old, was placed under arrest and charged with Reckless Endangerment, Aggravated Assault and Battery and several other Traffic Violations.

Bail was set at $50,000 and was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections Detention Facility pending advise of rights hearing.
