Customer Arrested After Assaulting McDonald's Employee

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas USVI - On Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at approximately 8:48 am, the victim, an employee of McDonald’s in Lockhart Gardens, reported that she was assaulted at her workplace by Nia Simmonds, who pulled up in McDonald’s drive through with a minor in the vehicle.

The victim advised Simmonds that she would need to come inside of the establishment to get the remaining of her order. Simmonds then drove out of the drive through, parked up her vehicle and entered the establishment.

While in the establishment, Simmonds stood by the counter walkway when she struck the victim to the left eye causing an orbital fracture and contusion to the left eye.

On Monday, April 15, 2019, at approximately 6:30 pm, 19-year-old Nia Simmonds was arrested for Assault in the Third Degree and transported to the Richard Callwood Command.

Simmonds bail was set at $25,000 and was booked, processed and turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending her Advice of Rights Hearing.
