Police Investigate Woman Found Dead In Sunny Isle Shopping Center Parking Lot In Vehicle

Christiansted, St. Croix USVI - On Friday July 12, 2019, a male individual reported his wife missing at 11:36 am at the Ancilmo Marshal Command, Christiansted.

On Saturday, July 13, 2019, at approximately 12:36 am, a Ranger American Security guard observed a beige Infinity QX4 SUV in the parking lot close by the guard booth in the middle of the lot.

The guard observed someone in the driver’s seat, struck the window but no one responded so he called 911.

Officers responded to the call from the 911 dispatch and observed a female whose body was in full decomposition siting in the vehicle driver's seat.

The VIPD body repair / wrecker operator was called and he unlocked the vehicle. The female was removed from the SUV and transported to the Juan Luis F. Hospital where she was pronounced as dead on arrival.

The husband stated that the last time he saw his wife was on Thursday, July 11, 2019, at around 9:00 am when he left the house. When he returned, she was gone.

He said she was an alcoholic and sometimes went on binges.

The deceased was identified by her husband as 47-year-old Elizabeth Shaller.

The cause of death is unknown pending the Medical Examiners Investigations finding .
