VIPD Officers Respond To Homicide In Bovoni

ST. THOMAS – On Saturday, August 10, 2019 at approximately 7:39 p.m., Virgin Islands Police Department officers responded to a 911 emergency call of a female lying on the floor at a residence in Bovoni in the vicinity of the Purple Shop.

Officers from the Mariel C. Command Patrol Division and the Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) arrived on the scene and found an unresponsive female lying on the floor of the crime scene location in what appeared to be a pool of blood.

Officers observed damage to the upper body of the unknown female. Emergency Medical Technicians on the scene confirmed that the unresponsive female had no vital signs. The identity of the victim is being withheld until proper notification is given to the next of kin.

Preliminary investigation from the crime scene prompted investigative officers to issue a person of interest alert and subsequently a wanted alert bulletin for a Hispanic male that is known as “Antonio” in connection with this homicide. He is known to drive a blue Ford Escape. “Antonio” is classified as armed and dangerous. Please notify law enforcement immediately if you see or encounter “Antonio.” This case is currently under investigation by the Major Crime Unit.
