CIB Investigating After 2 Bodies Found in Home

Christiansted, St. Croix USVI - On August 19, 2019, at approximately 11:09 a.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received a call for a welfare check for a FEMA employee who did not show up for work. Upon officers arrival at the home in Mary’s Fancy, Christiansted, they discovered two unresponsive males in the interior of the home.

The house is the home of the deceased, 69-year-old John Rapine (FEMA employee). The other deceased, his brother 61-year-old Joseph Rapine.

Preliminary investigation reveals no signs of foul play at this time.

The Criminal Investigations Bureau Detectives are awaiting the results of the autopsies to determine the cause of death. This case remains under investigation by the CIB.

Both deceased were identified by next of kin.
