VIPD’S Criminal Investigation Bureau Makes Arrest

ST. THOMAS – On Thursday, August 22, 2019 at approximately 8:00 p.m., Virgin Islands Police Department Officers of the Criminal Investigation Bureau arrested Elieser Edwards, 19, of Building 8 in Paul M. Pearson Gardens Housing Community on St. Thomas and charged him with Burglary in the 1st Degree.

This arrest stemmed from a victim arriving to the Criminal Investigation Bureau on Monday, June 10, 2019 at approximately 3:15 p.m. to report an incident that occurred on Friday, June 7, 2019. The victim stated that a masked male entered her residence with a firearm in hand. A fight ensued and during the struggle the mask came off and the victim was able to identify Edwards. The victim sustained injuries that included bruising about the body and lacerations to the head area.

After Edwards’ arrest he was turned over the Bureau of Corrections pending his Advice of Rights hearing.
