VIPD Investigating Hit & Run Incident in Downtown St. Thomas

ST. THOMAS – On Saturday, September 7, 2019 at approximately 9:15 p.m., Virgin Islands Police Department was notified of a hit and run incident on the “Backstreet” in downtown Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas. Sandra Williams, 59, was fatally injured as a result of this incident.

Deputy Chief David Cannonier had the following plea to the community. “Please be careful and be mindful and aware of pedestrians when operating your motor vehicles.” Williams had been known to frequent the market square area. Her current residence is unknown.

Officers of the Traffic Bureau are currently investigating this incident and asking anyone that may have seen or have any knowledge of this incident to please contact the Virgin Islands Police Department.
