VICI (Virgin Islands Crime Initiative) Make Arrest One Firearm Recovered

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas - On October 24, 2019 at around 9:10 p.m., Officers assigned to the VICI (Virgin Islands Crime Initiative) team observed a silver Toyota Corolla running a red light in the area of Wendy’s, vicinity of Mandela Circle.

Officers made a traffic stop of the vehicle and smelled a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle.

They interviewed the driver and requested to search the vehicle, discovering over 44 packets of marijuana, as well as one firearm in the center console of the vehicle to include 27 rounds of ammunition.

The driver of the vehicle, Allan Sprauve, 20 years old, was arrested and charged with Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm, Possession of Ammunition and Possession Drugs with intent to Distribute.

St. Thomas Deputy Chief Steven Philip stated ,“Public Safety is VIPD’s number one priority. We will continue this joint inter-agency initiative to reduce gun violence within our communities.”

Bail was set at $25,0000. Sprauve was unable to post bail and was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections.
