Progressive Crime Initiative Seizes More Guns

U.S. Virgin Islands – Phase 2 of the Virgin Islands Crime Initiative has again resulted in arrests and confiscations in St. Thomas and St. Croix.

On St. Croix on September 1 at approximately 2:14 a.m., officers arrested Robert Mason, age 44 of Little Princesse, charging him with Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm. He was found at a gas station with a gun on his person.

Later that afternoon on St. Thomas, officers of the Ten-Day Rush Initiative arrested 24-year-old Shamoi Allamby of Santa Maria, charging him with Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition after being found at a gas station with a firearm with a conversion kit and an extended magazine.

Bail for Mason was set at $50,000, while bail for Allamby was set at $25,000. None of the men were able to post bail, and both were turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending their Advice of Rights hearings.
