Man Arrested for Assault 1st Degree

St. Thomas, USVI - Officers were dispatched at approximately 11:45 pm to a disturbance in the area of Bernie’s Bar located in American Yacht Harbor. Investigation revealed that the suspect was screaming and running through the bar while making verbal threats to the bartender.

At about 1:45 a.m. the on-duty Security Guard confronted Mr. Levi Registe in the American Harbor staircase leading down to the parking garage causing a disturbance. The Security Guard stated that he told him to leave the area and that is when Mr. Registe attacked him with a knife causing a laceration that required 10 to 14 sutures to close. During the attack, the on-duty guards’ shoulder was also dislocated.

At approximately 5:33 a.m., officers received a call from the 911 Emergency Call Center that Mr. Registe was at the Emergency Room reporting that he was struck with a piece of 2x4 breaking his left hand. Officers made contacted Registe, who later admitted to being in the incident this morning and stabbing the security guard. The Security Guard stated he had no knowledge of how Mr. Registe hand was broken.

31-year-old Levi Registe received medical attention for his injury, COVID tested and released into police custody. He was transported to Adam Command where he was charged, booked, and processed.

His bail was set at $75,000.00 by Order of the Court, unable to post said bail he was turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending his Advice of Rights Hearing on Friday, November 4, 2022.
