Elderly Woman Succumbs to Injuries Sustained in Vehicular Incident

St. Thomas, USVI - On Thursday, November 24, 2022, at 1:38pm, the 911 Emergency Call Center received a call from a citizen about someone being struck by a vehicle on the Moravian Highway in the area of Nisky Center.

Preliminary investigation revealed that an elderly female was crossing the road and was struck by a taxi van was that was traveling westward on Moravian Highway in the right lane in the area of Nisky Center.

As a result of the incident, she sustained life threatening injuries and expired at the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital.

She was a 73-year-old female.

The female was identified by next of kin as Pauline Sharry.

Sharry sold newspapers in that location for many of years.

Traffic Commander Captain Roslyn Jarvis and the VIPD extends condolences to the friends and family of Ms. Pauline Sharry.

This is an ongoing investigation by the VIPD Traffic Investigation Bureau.
