Man Arrested After Discharging Shots in Guttets Gade

St. Thomas, USVI - On Saturday, December 10, 2022, at approximately 8:33 p.m., officers from the Richard Callwood Command responded to a call for shots fired in the area of Guttets Gade. Contact was made with a victim who stated that Andrew Isiah Reid struck her in the area of her chest, near Banco Popular on Veteran’s Drive Annex. The victim further stated that while in the area of Guttets Gade, Reid pointed and discharged a firearm at her.

At around 10:30 p.m., detectives from the Forensics Unit and Intel Unit conducted an inspection in the area of Altona and Welgunst, in search on Mr. Reid. Officers approached a vehicle fitting the description given on Mr. Reid and the vehicle he was driving during the incident; Reid was taken into custody without incident. He was booked, processed and unable to post bail of $150,000.00, he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his Advice of Rights Hearing set for Monday, December 12, 2022. Andrew Isiah Reid, age 32, was charged with Assault 1st degree, Assault 3rd degree, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon During a Crime of Violence, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Reckless Endangerment 1st degree, and Simple Assault.

This case is presently under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
