CIB Investigates: Man Sustained a Gunshot Wound to his Hand in the Frenchman’s Bay Area

St. Thomas, USVI - On Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at approximately 2:38 a.m., 911 Emergency Center was notified of a gunshot victim at the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital. Officers made contact with a black adult male who stated that he was on his way home when he decided to stop on the side of the roadway to urinate in the Frenchman’s Bay area. He stated that just before he was finished, he observed a black SUV driving pass. The victim further stated that the black SUV never stopped but someone fired several shots from the rear driver’s side window. He immediately threw his hands up and later observed he was shot.

The victim was driven to the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital in a private vehicle.

Investigation revealed that the victim sustained a gunshot wound to the right-hand causing injury to his thumb and middle finger.
