41-year-old Pittsburgh Man Died After Snorkeling Incident

St. John, USVI - On Monday, April 10, 2023, at approximately 12:50 p.m., detectives were notified of a drowning that occurred on Cinnamon Bay Beach, St. John, V.I.

On Monday, April 10, 2023, at an unknown time, a male and his wife went snorkeling with their children and friends. While snorkeling, the male began to experience issues with his snorkeling equipment, so he decided to swim back to shore. While swimming back to shore, he began to yell out for help. Bystanders on the shore rushed to assist the male who was unresponsive, he was brought ashore and was subsequently transported to the Myrah Keating-Smith Clinic where he succumbed. The male was subsequently identified by his wife as 41-year-old, Mr. Christopher Yohus from Pittsburgh.
