Man Arrested for Burglary on St. John

St. John, USVI - On May 4, 2023, Vanel Prentice was arrested and charged with Burglary in the Third Degree.

On Saturday, April 28, 2023, at approximately 12:00 p.m., officers of the Leander Jurgen Command were dispatched to a burglary in progress at a villa located on Kline Bay Road on St. John.

On April 28, 2023, at approximately 11:51 a.m., a property manager observed an unfamiliar vehicle parked in the driveway of the villa. The property manager then conducted an inspection of the premises and when they got to the main door, an unknown male opened the door from the inside. Investigation revealed that the unknown male entered the premises without permissions by the occupants. The male gained entrance by damaging a door and entering the premises. The male subsequently entered an unknown vehicle that was parked in the driveway and left the area. The unknown male was later identified as 33-year-old Vanel Prentice from St. Thomas. His charges are Burglary in the Third Degree, Unlawful Entry and Trespassing. Bail was set at $25,000.00.
