55-year-old Man Faces Domestic Violence Charges after Allegedly Kidnapping his Ex-Girlfriend

St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands - On Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at approximately 10:26 a.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of an assault that occurred at the Five Corners Service Station on St. Croix. Upon the arrival of the initial responding Officer, it was disclosed that Mr. Daniel T. Thomas came to the service station and assaulted a male and forced a female to leave with him against her will.

The female stated that her ex-boyfriend, Daniel T. Thomas appeared at her workplace, pushed her to the side and punched her coworker in the face. He then grabbed her by the arm and ordered her to come with him and threatened to kill her if she did not comply. The female complied against her will and was in fear for her life. Thomas then placed her inside his silver, four door Kia, Optima and drove away. The female stated that Thomas grabbed her by her throat and squeezed until she could not breath.

Daniel T. Thomas admitted to being present at his ex-girlfriend’s workplace and punching her coworker in the face and taking her with him but claims it was not against her will.

Daniel T. Thomas, age 55, was arrested and charged with Kidnapping and False Imprisonment-DV, Assault in the Second Degree-DV, Unlawful Sexual-DV, Simple Assault & Battery-DV. He was booked and processed. The bail has not been set as per the Domestic Violence Statue pending his appearance before the court. He was remanded to the John A. Bell Adult Correction Facility pending Advise of Rights Hearing.
